Team India leggie Yuzvendra Chahal has shared a cryptic tweet following his 2023 Asia Cup snub, presumably taking a sly dig at skipper Rohit Sharma through it.

Notably, 2022 onwards, Chahal has bowled 14 times in One Day Internationals, taking a staggering 24 wickets at an average of 27.91. The cunning spinner also had a productive IPL 2023, wherein he had 21 scalps from 14 matches.

Good performances, however, have not proven to be enough for the Men in Blue and Rajasthan Royals cricketer as he has not made the cut for India’s 17-man 2023 Asia Cup squad.

Chahal’s under-discussion tweet conveys the transformation of a setting sun into one that is rising, signaling that he is looking to make a strong comeback.

Interestingly, Yuzvendra Chahal has actually referred to an old tweet Rohit Sharma had uploaded in 2018.

“The sun will rise again tomorrow,” the Hitman had tweeted after he was not considered for the 2018 Test Tour of England.

Despite having dominated the Indian Premier League and the International stage year after year, Chahal has been unfortunate to miss out on marquee tournaments. Chahal did not make to the final 15 for 2021 T20WC, and though he was in the squad for T20WC 2022, the wily spinner failed to get a single game.

Thus, the dejection from Yuzvendra Chahal, evident in his latest tweet, is understandable as the spinner has faced multiple rejections for no fault of his own.

The 2023 Asia Cup omission being concerned, Yuzi has missed out on a spot to Axar Patel, who, although nowhere as good at bowling as Chahal, provides additional firepower to India’s batting line-up.

Team India’s full 2023 Asia Cup squad:
