3 Indian Players who might be Traded during IPL 2023 Trade Window

Teams will be allowed to acquire players from other franchises in the form of a trade before the 2023 IPL auction is held.

Ipl 2023 trade window

The 2023 IPL players auction is planned to be held on December 16, 2022 and since a mega-auction already took place last year, this one is just there to help IPL franchises get rid of unnecessary players and replace them with new ones.

However, the auction is now not the only way in which a franchise can buy a player.

This time, teams will be allowed to acquire players from other franchises in the form of a trade before the 2023 IPL auction is held.

IPL 2023 Player Trade Window is expected to be officially opened after the end of 2022 T20WC and run until seven days before the auction.

Here, we will be looking at 3 Indian players who are most likely to get traded to other sides before the auction gets underway.

IPL 2023 Trade Window: 3 Indians likely to change teams

1. Ravindra Jadeja

Three days prior to IPL 2022 commencement, CSK had declared Ravindra as their new captain. However, after defeats in the first few games under his tenure, Jaddu had to give the leadership duties back to MSD.

He apparently got ruled out of the season a couple of games after the incident. Interestingly, the all-rounder also removed all CSK-related posts from his social media before he unfollowed them.

Things appear to be sour between Jadeja and Chennai and several franchises must be itching to sign the star all-rounder. Thus, don’t be surprised if Ravindra Jadeja finds a new home during the IPL 2023 Trade Window.

Gujarat Titans allegedly approached CSK about it but no agreement was reached until now.

Nonetheless, there are other sides too, and Ravindra Jadeja will be a hot commodity come the IPL 2023 Trade Window.

2. Manish Pandey

Once hailed as the next big thing in Indian Cricket circuit, Manish Pandey has failed to live upto his reputation ever since he left KKR.

Last year, the right-hander could not repay the faith Gautam Gambhir and LSG put in him.

Manish’s role of anchor is something both KL Rahul and deKock can also play. In addition, their big-hitting prowess is better than that of Manish. It is likely he’ll be released.

Regardless, he is still one of the best local batters available and a couple of teams might look to sign him through the IPL 2023 Trade Window whenever it opens.

Potential buyers include Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. Both the sides have a void at the number 3 or 4 position.

3. Vijay Shankar

The Men in Blue’s 1st ever 3-D player has found it hard to get going in recent times.

Last year, Vijay Shankar scored 19 runs and took no wickets off the 4 games he featured in before picking up a serious injury.

If he goes into the auction pool, his price is bound to increase due to nature of the event. Thus, teams interested in Shankar must acquire him in the IPL 2023 Trade Window itself.

The chepauk decks might suit his back of the length bowling and he has also played for CSK before. Therefore, they’re a potential destination.

Other teams may also look into Shankar if they need a medium-pace local all-rounder.
