It’s a positive mood in the Delhi Capitals camp. With their latest win over the Chennai Super Kings sending them to the top of the Indian Premier League points table. During their run chase against the Super Kings, the Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting was been interviewed near the team’s dugout. What Ponting didn’t realise though was that he was hilariously been mocked by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant during the live on-field interview.
Rishabh Pant Caught Mocking Ricky Ponting
It all happened during the Delhi Capitals run chase. Coach Ricky Ponting was been interviewed during the 8th over of the inning when wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant walked in from the back (without Ponting’s knowledge) and got into a hilarious act of mocking Ponting. Besides Pant, his teammate and Australian allrounder Marcus Stoinis too video-bombed Ponting’s interview.
Delhi Capitals Go Top Of The Table
Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. With their record run chase against the Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals leapt back to the top of the points table. They are closely followed by defending champions Mumbai Indians who have a game in hand. The Delhi run chase was led by Shikhar Dhawan who notched up his first ton in the Indian Premier League.
Shikhar Dhawan’s Maiden IPL Ton
It was a night to remember for opener Shikhar Dhawan who recorded his first-ever IPL century. The opener built a solid platform to lead Delhi Capitals into a record run chase, and even managing to stay unbeaten right till the end. Dhawan’s 58 balls 101 comprised 14 fours and 1 six. He was well supported with cameos from captain Shreyas Iyer and Marcus Stoinis before allrounder Axar Patel played the finisher’s role and seeing the team through.
Coach Ricky Ponting would definitely want the team to carry on with the good work as the tournament heads into its crucial phase. And as far as they seem to be enjoying themselves and churning out the right result, we don’t see a reason for them to come up with something more hilarious.
