If you are on social media, you can’t just avoid the trolls. Social media has become a platform for people who will just say anything to anyone. People don’t even shy away from using derogatory remarks if they don’t agree with someone. Recently, a Twitter user tried to troll former Indian cricketer Rohan Gavaskar after he shared his take on India’s batting debacle against Australia in the first Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Team India created an embarrassing record on the third day of the first Test match against Australia as their batting collapsed and their second inning was confined to only 36 runs. The Australian bowlers wreaked havoc in the first session on the third day and Indian batsmen seemed to have no clue of what they were doing in the middle.
The fans and the cricket experts were shocked at the performance of the Indian batters after their gutsy comeback taking a lead of 53 runs over the Aussies. The fans were left rubbing their eyes as they couldn’t believe India had lost 9 wickets for only 36 runs. The last man Mohammed Shami was retired hurt after Pat Cummins dealt a blow to his arm.
Rohan Gavaskar gave an apt reply to the troll
Rohan Gavaskar took to Twitter to express his views about India’s batting performance. Team India’s batting fell like a house of cards and were all out in just a span of 21.2 overs. Rohan Gavaskar wrote, “Are we just witnessing the birth of a new format? First innings test match-second innings t-20. Best of both worlds.”
After Gavaskar’s tweet, a troll tried to berate the former Indian cricketer by posting a harsh comment. Gavaskar was not one to be cowed down and came up with a witty response. The response by Gavaskar was apt and savage enough to shut the troll down. Rohan Gavaskar represented India in 11 ODIs and played 117 first-class matches.

As for team India, they will definitely be looking to fight back strongly in the second Test after their disastrous performance in the first match. The second Test will commence from 26th December and will be played in Melbourne Cricket Ground.
