Being one of the most popular cricket tournaments, IPL not only brings upheaval among fans but also among the players from different teams. Last night, Punjab Kings & RCB played a 40 over-match in the Indian Premier League at Narendra Modi stadium. In the first inning, Punjab scored 179 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. On the other hand, Bangalore managed to score only 145 runs which led to their defeat in yesterday’s game. And hence Punjab Kings won the PBKS vs RCB match by 34 runs, thanks to Harpreet Brar’s heroics.
Rather than keeping it to the match itself, they continued their battle after the match as well.
Punjab Kings’ boastful tweet
After a glorious victory, Punjab Kings took to Twitter in order to post a photo of disheartened Bangalore players. Punjab won the match from Bangalore by 34 runs. The tweet read: “Yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai [Everything is silence over here].”
RCB’s smart and witty reply
In this IPL season, this is the second time when RCB is returning to the pavilion with no victory yet they have their spirits high. This is because they are at number 3 while Punjab Kings is still standing in the 5th position. For putting this into highlight before Punjab, they strongly gave a reply with their tweet which read: Because we neither go overboard when we win nor over-analyze a loss. With the tweet, they posted a photo of the points table.

RCB has played three finals in the IPL but lost all of them (in 2009 to the Deccan Chargers, in 2011 to the Chennai Super Kings and in 2016 to Sunrisers Hyderabad). Interestingly, Bangalore holds the records for both the highest and lowest totals in the IPL (263/5 and 49 all-out respectively). RCB holds a large fan base.
Punjab Kings surely doesn’t have the largest fan base but it does have the most loyal fan base of all the teams in the IPL. Despite the disappointing and unsatisfactory performances by the team over the years, fans still support the franchise with all their heart.
