Team England and New Zealand are currently battling it out in a 2-match Test series. The first Test started on 2nd June and New Zealand was bowled out for 378. The highlight of the Kiwis’ inning was the unbeaten double century by Devon Conway. The opening batsman became the first batsman to smash a double century on debut in England. However, the match is in the news now for an entirely different reason; a reason that Ollie Robinson wouldn’t be too proud of.
While Devon Conway made his international debut for New Zealand, Ollie Robinson also featured in the international team for England for the first time. The bowling all-rounder was brilliant with the ball as he dismissed four New Zealand batsmen including Tom Latham, Ross Taylor, Colin de Grandhomme and Kyle Jamieson. The right-arm medium bowler proved to be the most lethal bowler for the English team.
Ollie Robinson to pay the price for his old tweets
Putting an amazing performance on his debut, Ollie Robinson must have been on cloud nine, but his happiness was short-lived. Old tweets by Ollie Robinson had gone public and the cricketer was left embarrassed by the exposure of the tweets.
The tweets were utterly sexist and racist, and the all-rounder has been facing backlash for the same. He even apologized for all the tweets that he posted around 8 years ago, but it seems that he is going to pay the price for it.

England and Wales Cricket Board has decided to drop Ollie Robinson for the 2nd Test and will investigate the matter thoroughly. It looks like Robinson is surely going to pay the price and his cricketing career may come to an abrupt standstill. As for the match, it is in the balance as England trail by 267 runs after losing two wickets at the end of the second day’s play. Ollie Robinson will have to play a handy role with the bat as well, in the absence of Chris Woakes.
