The Indian women’s cricket team is currently on the tour of England where they are playing the last leg of their long tour which consisted of 1 Test, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The women team was at their resilient best as they managed to draw the Test from a position where a loss looked inevitable. The T20Is commenced on 09th July where Harleen Deol became the talk of the town after her fielding heroics.
The team had 3 ODIs after the only Test where the team tried to get an upper hand. However, the England team proved to be too good for the Asian team as they grabbed the ODI series. Team India showed an inspired performance in the third ODI, but it was too late as the English team had already clinched the trophy. The first T20I was affected by rain and the winner of the game was decided through the DLS method.
Harleen Deol takes a stunner
The English team was at the fire as they kept scoring at a very good pace throughout the inning with Natalie Sciver scoring a quickfire 55 off just 27 deliveries. Amy Ellen Jones played a good hand as well with 43 off 27 balls. The England team set a huge target of 178 for the Indian team. While the English women were batting brilliantly, Harleen Deol stole the limelight as she took a stunning catch on the ropes.
The catch came in the 19th over when Shikha Pandey was bowling to Jones who hit the ball pretty well to go over wide long-off. The ball would have gone all the way if Harleen Deol didn’t pull off an excellent catch. She timed her jump perfectly, grabbed the ball, but lost her balance so had to throw the ball in the air. However, she was quick enough to jump back in and complete a brilliant catch.

Though the result didn’t go in team India’s favour, the fielding heroics of Harleen Deol definitely made the evening of the fans. The Indian team will be playing their next T20I in Hove on 11th July, which will be followed by the third and final T20I in Chelmsford on 14th July.
