Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is unlikely to leave the club and is expected to be considered in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plan for the upcoming 2021/22 Premier League season.
The 25-year-old Marital, who made 48 appearances and scored 23 goals for the Red Devils last season, was reported to move to Italy to join Inter Milan in the transfer window.
On August 7, Anthony Martial started for United in their friendly match against Everton where they won 4-0 and the forward was substituted with Juan Mata in the 46th minute.
With star forward Marcus Rashford to undergo shoulder surgery which will make him unavailable for the club at least till October, Solskjaer cannot afford to let the Frenchman leave the club.
Marital was last seen playing in United shirt in Premier League against rivals Manchester City and missed the last 11 league matches and wasn’t included in the knockout stages of Europa League where Manchester United lost to Spanish club Villareal FC on penalties.
According to a report by BCC Sport, Manchester United are not interested in trading Martial who is more of a part of head coach Solskjaer’s plans for the new season. On the other hand, the situation at the Italian club Inter Milan, where the French forward was likely to move, is not so good when it comes to finances and, at present, they aren’t in a position to sign anyone.
Martial, who moved to Manchester United from AS Monaco in September 2015 for £ 36 million, has represented the England club in 258 games netted a total of 78 goals in his six-year stint with the club so far.
In June 2020, the French forward scored his first Premier League hat-trick for United while playing against Sheffield United at home as they went on to win the game 3-0.
Manchester United will kick off their 2021/22 Premier League season against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United on Saturday (August 14) at Old Trafford.
