Not being in the best of his form, doesn’t make the Indian Captain, Virat Kohli, curb his aggression as he was involved in a heated argument with James Anderson. On the 4th day of the Lord’s test, it was seen on a couple of occasions that Virat Kohli and Anderson were involved in intense bickering. The second test of the Eng vs Ind 2021 Test series is currently open for all 4 results as the match is heading onto a close and interesting finish.
It all happened in the 17th over of the Indian innings when Kohli saw Anderson running in the middle of the pitch. While Anderson was coming back for his run-up after a delivery, Kohli went towards him and called out for the bowler’s illegal act, using some expletive set of words. Kohli was audible as he was close to the stumps and the stump mic caught the exchange of words.

There was another incident where Kohli and Anderson were seen exchanging words. Kohli was also heard commenting on Anderson’s age. “chirp, chirp and chirp. This is what old age makes you”, Kohli said to Anderson. He also advised Anderson to act his age as young cricketers would be watching the match. Allegedly, all this verbal spat was the lead-up to what happened on day 3. It was seen on Day 3 that Anderson and Bumrah exchanged some words after Bumrah bowled back-to-back bouncers to Anderson.

Eng vs Ind 2021, Lord’s Test
So far, in the Eng vs Ind Test series, James Anderson has had an upper hand over the Indian Captain. Anderson has already dismissed Kohli once in the series for a duck. Now, with a verbal spat between the two, the competition between both the players is expected to get even more intense.
Virat Kohli, despite looking solid in 2nd innings yet again could not continue for long. Kohli did smash four boundaries but got out to an angled, out-going delivery from Sam Curran.
The second test between India and England is currently well-poised between both the teams. The visitors were 181/6 after the end of Day 4s play. Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma are the overnight batsmen for team India with the lead of 154 runs.
