The second leg of one of the most celebrated leagues around the world, Indian Premier League is going to commence from September 19. The tournament came to a halt in May owing to the Coronavirus outbreak in the camps. BCCI then decided to take the league to UAE, where the rest of the league will now take place. In the midst of all the planning, RCB spinner Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the league due to an injury.
Washington Sundar set to miss the second leg of IPL
Washington Sundar has been an important member for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He became a part of the setup in 2018, after which he has been a regular feature in their matches. However, he will have to miss the remainder of the tournament due to a finger injury. Â RCB has done rather well in the 2021 edition of the league and are sitting on the third position with 5 wins to their name. Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings are on No.1 and No.2 respectively.
The replacement for Washington Sundar has already been announced by the RCB camp and the Bengal medium pacer Akash Deep will step in the shoes of the spinner. Akash Deep is with the franchise as a net bowler. It is noteworthy that Akash Deep was the second-highest wicket taker for his team in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. He has been a regular feature in the Bengal team and has done well for his team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have made 5 replacements this season so far. Even RCB’s head coach Simon Katich opted out due to some personal reasons and has been replaced by Mike Hesson. The team will look to dominate the remainder of the league and try to win the trophy for the first time ever. So far, they have looked in good touch, but will have to continue their winning streak as they move forward in the tournament.
