Sharjah Pitch Report for IPL 2021
The Sharjah wicket has all in offer for the batsmen. The batting-friendly pitch, in addition to the short boundaries makes Sharjah a batting paradise. Batsmen clear the ropes easily due to the short boundaries and often big totals are seen here. The bowlers, whether the spinners or the pacers, have to rely on their variations in order to pick up wickets in Sharjah. The pitch in Sharjah has nothing to offer to the bowlers and bowling stock deliveries might lead to being predictive and going for big runs.
In the last edition of IPL, a series of big totals were seen in Sharjah and the same is expected this season as well. Here, the teams managed to score totals of 200+ runs at ease last year and those runs were also seen getting chased. Hence, no total is really safe in the Sharjah pitch.
What the teams should learn from the behavior of the Sharjah Pitch in the last IPL season is that it got better to bat as the match progressed. With the same Pitch in Sharjah for IPL 2021, the teams after winning the toss should look to bowl first here.
