The Mumbai Indians came back with a bang in their match against Punjab Kings. The MI Paltan had lost three games in a row before the game against PBKS and looked down and out. However, they have made a much-needed comeback with a victory in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League. Apart from the MI’s clinical show, there was a beautiful moment in the match as Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya upheld the spirit of the game.
Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first after winning the toss and it worked perfectly for his side. It was a must-win game for both the sides to stay alive in the race to playoffs and Mumbai Indians were triumphant keeping themselves afloat. There was a heartfelt moment in the first inning of the match where Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya withdrew a run-out appeal.

The incident took place on the last ball of the sixth over of PBKS inning. Krunal Pandya bowled a yorker, which was hit by Chris Gayle straight back down the pitch. The ball went directly to Rahul on the other side and ricocheted off him to Krunal. The MI all-rounder quickly took the bails off in a bid to run Rahul out. However, the left-handed bowler along with the skipper pulled the appeal back as Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya display showmanship.

The gesture was appreciated by the PBKS skipper KL Rahul as he gave a thumbs up immediately after the appeal was withdrawn. The fans witnessed a great battle between both the teams yesterday, however the late surge by Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard completely took the game away from the Punjab army.
Mumbai Indians have now got 10 points with 3 more matches to play. They still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs. On the other hand, PBKS is more or less out of the contention for the Top-4.
