The eleventh edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) gets underway from the 5th of December. The tournament kicks off with the Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars encounter at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Australian T20 league will go on for a period of 55 days in which a total of 61 games will be played. A total of 14 venues across Australia will host the Big Bash League this season. The tournament is divided into two stages, which are – the group stage and the playoffs. A total of 56 group stage matches will be played in the league. Each team will be playing 14 matches in this stage. After the league stage concludes, the top five teams on the points table will proceed to the next stage, which is the playoffs.
The next four matches, namely- the eliminator, the qualifier, the knockout and the challenger will then decide the two finalists. This extended version of the playoffs has been introduced into the BBL last season. The final will be played on Friday, January 28. Interestingly, the venues for the playoffs have not been decided yet.
BBL Live Telecast in India
The Live telecast of the 11th edition of the BBL will be provided by the Sony Sports Network in India. The Sony Six and Sony Six HD channels will be telecasting the action live in India and the entire subcontinent. All the matches of the league will be televised Live on the above mentioned channels.
