The West Indies tour of India is all set to start this weekend with the first One-day international. The white-ball tour consists of three one-days and as many T20 internationals. Considering the Covid situation, the tour which was previously scheduled to be played across six venues, has been revised and will now be played in two venues. The 50-over games are set to be played in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the T20Is will be played in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The hosts have recently suffered a 0-3 loss against South Africa in the ODIs. Hence they would be looking to bounce back to winning ways in their own backyard, against the Windies. This will also be the first occasion for Rohit Sharma as a full-time white-ball captain of Team India. A few uncapped players have been named in the squads.
Deepak Hooda and Harshal Patel have been brought into the ODI and T20 sides respectively. Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi have been named in both ODI and T20 squads. Kuldeep Yadav is making a comeback into the ODI side.
The Windies are coming after a recent 3-2 T20 series win against England. However, they had lost 1-2 to Ireland in an ODI series last month. Keiron Pollard will be leading the West Indies side.
