After a series loss against South Africa on their home soil, the Indian team is back in the country and are up against the West Indies. They are going to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against the Caribbean team. In the first ODI which is currently underway in Narendra Modi Stadium, the Indian Cricket team is sporting black armbands to condole the legendary singer’s demise.
The team also observed 1-minute silence in honour of late Lata Mangeshkar whose departure from this world has saddened the entire nation. The late singer has been honoured with plethora of awards which include Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan along with plenty of National and Filmfare Awards.
After sustaining the injury before the South Africa tour, Rohit Sharma is back in the team and is leading the side. The skipper opted to bowl after winning the toss and the Indian bowlers wrapped up the West Indies side at a paltry score of 176 in 43.5 overs. The Indian team is on top and it’s highly unlikely that the West Indies will be able to save the first ODI.
