Day 1 of the ongoing Test between Pakistan and Australia produced a light moment when the hosts’ wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan comically asked the Aussie veteran Steve Smith whether they should go for the review or not.
The hilarious incident unfolded in the 71st over of the Australian innings as a delivery off Nauman Ali’s bowling hit the pads of Smith. The batter did not offer a shot and this prompted the Pakistani players to heavily appeal for an lbw.
The umpire did not raise his finger but Pakistan had reviews remaining. As the team discussed whether to take the review or not, Mohammad Rizwan went to Smith for the suggestion, putting his arm around the Australian’s shoulders.
Ultimately, Pakistan did not opt for the review, which eventually turned out to be a wise decision. However, the 32-year-old got out at the fag end of the day as Faheem Ashraf took a blinder to dismiss the batter.

Talking about the match, Australia are in the commanding position and are yet to be bowled out, surviving the first two days of the second Test match of the historic series. The visiting nation has put up a total of 505 runs on the scoreboard at the loss of eight wickets.
While Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith emerged as the top performers on Day 1, Alex Carey continued with the magic and was well supported by Australia’s other middle-order batters. Carey notched up 93 runs during his stay at the crease but surprisingly fell prey to the part-timer Babar Azam’s bowling.
