The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is slowly gaining steam and the fans are loving the contest amongst the different teams. The 06th match of the league between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders witnessed a moment which was bizarre yet comical as RCB takes a review for fun which led to a meme-fest on social media.
RCB takes a review for fun
It is needless to say that not all cricketers can get the better of the DRS system and the evidence of it was seen in the match between RCB and KKR. RCB in a bid to get the batsman out took a review that will go down as one of the worst reviews of all time. The referral came in the 16th over of the KKR innings when Harshal Patel was bowling to Varun Chakaravarthy.
Patel bowled a yorker which was well kept out by the tail-ender Chakaravarthy, however Patel thought that the ball had hit the batsman’s boot first. He convinced his captain Faf du Plessis to go for a review to which the skipper obliged, but what the viewers saw on the big screen was just embarrassing for RCB as the ball was nowhere near the boot.

The league is gradually picking up pace and the teams are trying hard to get the early advantage by winning their opening few matches.
The 06th match was the second game for both KKR and RCB. While KKR won their first game, RCB faced a defeat against Punjab Kings in the opening game. RCB made a mess of the chase against KKR but eventually won the game by 3 wickets.
It is very early to look at the points table but Rajasthan Royals are leading the race currently with 2 points and a very healthy Net Run Rate. KKR will play their next game against Punjab Kings while RCB will face Rajasthan Royal in their next fixture.
