After losing their first Test against South Africa, Bangladesh is trying hard to stay alive in the second Test which is taking place at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth. The Asian team has looked timid and has been completely dominated by the Proteas. During South Africa’s second inning, Mehidy Hasan fails to see the ball and dropped a pretty straight-forward catch which could have given Bangladesh the opening they wanted.
After winning the toss in the Second Test, Dean Elgar chose to bat and his team put on a huge score of 453 in the first inning. In reply, Bangladeshi batsmen were all over the place and were bundled up on just 217. The Bangladesh bowlers had their task cut out and Ebadot Hossain created an opportunity in the first over itself. However, Mehidy Hasan fails to see the ball and dropped a sitter. The Bangladeshi cricketer even hurt himself badly during the process.
The incident happened on the second ball of the very first over of South Africa’s second inning. Ebadot Hossain bowled a full and wide delivery which the batsman Sarel Erwee tried to cut. As he played the shot, the ball went straight to Mehidy Hasan who was standing at backward point. He lost the ball under the lights and it hit him on the stomach. Hasan was seen rolling along the field in absolute pain. The opening batsman got a lifeline as Mehidy Hasan fails to see the ball.

The match is tilted heavily on South Africa’s side as they gave a gigantic target of 423 to Bangladesh. The batsmen have not looked confident and the Proteas bowlers proved to be too good for them. At the end of Day 3, Bangladesh is reeling at 27 for the loss of 3 wickets. They still need a mammoth 386 runs and a win seems unlikely for the Asian team.
