Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a see-saw season this year as they won 5 matches consecutively but also lost as many matches in the same manner. Though they are still in the hunt to make it to the playoffs, they will have to depend on other teams’ result which will decide their fate. While SRH will be hoping for the best, their skipper Kane Williamson will not be with them for the remainder of the season owing to a personal reason.
Kane Williamson to miss remainder of the IPL due to imminent birth of his child
Kane Williamson has been leading SRH this season and his team has dangled between the extremities. Either they have won the games consecutively or they have lost them in a row. This pattern has hurt them as they could have easily made it to the playoffs after they attained 5 consecutive victories. Their skipper will now be leaving them as he is flying back home for the birth of his child.
Sunrisers Hyderabad took to their Twitter handle to announce the news of Kane Williamson leaving for his home for the auspicious occasion. The franchise wished his wife a safe delivery and a lot of happiness to the family. As for their chances in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, SRH are very much alive in the race, however it’s not entirely in their hands now.
The Hyderabad team has one more game left in the league stage, which they have to win at any cost or they will be eliminated from the tournament. Their next fixture is against Punjab Kings on 22nd May where they will look to trump their opponent. In order to make it to the playoffs, SRH need Delhi, Bangalore and KKR to lose their games as well. The points table has got very tight and 7 teams are in contention to fill the remaining 3 spots in the Top-4.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar likely to lead SRH in their final league game
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the vice-captain of the Hyderabad team and has previously led the side in 6 games. However, the team could win only two matches under the 32-year old pacer. But he has got experience and the franchise doesn’t want to experiment at this stage by choosing a new option for captaincy. So, Bhuvi might lead SRH against PBKS.
Also, they have got another decent captaincy options which is Nicholas Pooran who has an experience of leading in 2 international games.
