There were a lot of talks about a tri-nation series before the T20 World Cup and it was planned that New Zealand, Bangladesh and Pakistan will engage in the series. Though Bangladesh and New Zealand already gave a nod to participate in the series, Pakistan Cricket Team was apprehensive about participating because of their other international commitments.
The tri-nation series will be hosted by New Zealand and will be played in October before the T20 World Cup which is going to be held in Australia. New Zealand Cricket is going to announce the schedule for the series soon. Pakistan Cricket Team received the confirmation dates from England post which they confirmed their availability for the tri-nation series hosted by New Zealand.
Pakistan Cricket Team confirms their availability for the tri-nation series
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja cleared in an interaction with the sports journalists that he wanted his team to play international cricket before the mega event T20 World Cup. While the other two teams were positive regarding the series, Pakistan Cricket Team had held back on their final decision as they were awaiting confirmation on their other international fixtures.
The tri-nation series is most likely to be held in the first week of October while the T20 World Cup will commence on 16th October. Pakistan Cricket Team will most probably leave for New Zealand on October 4 for the series. The confirmation by PCB has come after England confirmed their arrival in the country to play a 7-match T20 series with the Asian team.
In an interaction with the sports journalists, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja said, “I was behind PCB’s international department to somehow find a way that our team can play six to seven games before the World Cup. The pitches in New Zealand also have bounce and pace, the side will benefit from playing matches there.”

Pakistan Cricket Team recently finished their 3-match ODI series on their ground against West Indies. The Asian team thrashed the Caribbean team in the series as they completed a clean sweep. They are next going to engage with Sri Lanka in a 2-match Test series which will begin on 16th July.
