The Irani Cup is being played between Saurashtra and Rest of India and the latter’s captain Hanuma Vihari opted to bowl first after winning the toss. The Rest of India bowlers proved their captain’s decision absolutely spot on as they wrapped up their opponent Saurashtra on a paltry score of just 98 runs. The Rest of India didn’t get off to a very good start but Sarfaraz steadied the ship with his century and Sarfaraz Khan pays tribute to Sidhu Moose Wala during his celebration.

The chips were down for Rest of India when Sarfaraz Khan came to bat as his team had lost 3 crucial wickets at the score of just 18 runs. It was at this time that the duo of Sarfaraz and skipper Hanuma Vihari stoop up and both the batsmen were involved in a 220-run stand. Sarfaraz took the attack to the bowlers and reached his century off just 92 deliveries. The highlight of his celebration was that Sarfaraz Khan pays tribute to the late singer Sidhu Moose Wala with his signature step.

It is to note that Sarfaraz Khan had an amazing Ranji Trophy season as the batsman scored a whopping 982 runs for his team Mumbai. He continued his spectacular run of form in the Irani Trophy as well and brought his team out of the deep waters along with his skipper. The right-handed batsman scored 138 runs at a strike rate of over 70. Currently, Saurashtra is playing their second inning and are trailing by 227 runs with Rest of India’s second inning yet to go.
