The esteemed player from Team India’s 1983 World Cup triumph, Roger Binny is set to replace Sourav Ganguly as the BCCI President in due time.
Despite wanting to serve another period at the helm of the Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI), Sourav has lacked support and has been left helpless.
Meanwhile, he appeared at a special promotional event held by Bandhan Bank. During the event, several notable sequences from Ganguly’s past were shown to him– including his commentary stint.
That’s where he showed he hasn’t lost his humor in spite of his power struggles as the BCCI administrator.
Sourav Ganguly makes a hilarious remark involving Roger and Stuart Binny
Ganguly was doing commentary
alongside Rahul Dravid and Harsha Bhogle for an India vs England test match in the played clip.
Interestingly, Stuart Binny (son of new BCCI president Roger Binny) was seen bowling in the video.
Sourav Ganguly in his reaction to the clip once it ended was a hilarious one, as he quoted: “By the way, that Binny is not Roger Binny. It is Stuart Binny”.
The tongue-in-cheek comment from Dada left the audience as well the anchor in splits.
Certainly that was Binny but not Roger.😀 pic.twitter.com/YooJGg14X3

For the unaware, Roger Binny was a decent all-rounder for India back in the 1980s. He played 99 international games and had 124 wickets and 1459 runs to his name.
Roger has already filled out his papers for the post of BCCI president and soon will replace Sourav Ganguly as the Indian Cricket chief.
In the aforementioned promotional from Bandhan Bank in which Dada appeared, he also talked openly about his time as the BCCI prez and emphasised that he “can’t be the administrator forever”. The former Indian skipper also hoped for a bigger future ahead.
Sourav Ganguly said: “You can’t play forever. You can’t be an (BCCI) administrator forever. But it has been fun doing both and seeing both sides of the coin. I will go for bigger things in future”.
