Former Indian captain Virat Kohli took a blow to his groin while batting against Royal Challengers Bangalore team-mate Harshal Patel ahead of tomorrow’s semi-final clash between INDIA and ENGLAND.
The batsman was practicing in a net session today (November 9) to gear up for the knockout against England that will be held at the iconic Adelaide Oval Stadium on November 10.
Harshal Patel’s delivery leaves Kohli down on his knees
Kohli was smashing the ball pretty fluid for a major portion of today’s practice session. However, one of the deliveries from Harshal sneaked past Virat’s blade and hit him where it hurts like hell.
The batsman immediately fell down on his knees and looked in serious discomfort. He had to take the support of his bat to even get back up on his feet.
Harshal Patel came up and checked up on his former skipper as soon as Virat Kohli suffered the strike.

Though Kohli had to wind down for a while after the event, he later returned for another practice session. Much like him today, skipper Rohit Sharma faced a minor injury scare the day before (November 8) as he was hit on his right forearm while taking throwdowns.
Thankfully, both batters are fit enough to start for Team India in tomorrow’s crucial game.
Rohit Sharma has had a woeful World Cup thus far, scoring just 89 runs from 5 league games. King Kohli, on the other hand, has been the most influential player for the Men in Blue with 246 runs and 3 fifties to his name.
Harshal Patel –whose delivery hit Virat Kohli in the groin– has not played a single game for Team India in the 2022 T20 World Cup. He had a really poor build-up to the tournament and was kicked to accommodate Arshdeep Singh and Md. Shami in the side.
