Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami fired a shot at former PAK pacer Shoaib Akhtar after the Men in Green lost to England in today’s (November 13) T20 WC 2022 final.
Jos Buttler and his men gunned down a sub-par total of 138 runs (with some difficulties) to lay their hands on the T20 WC trophy that eluded them by the barest of margins in 2016.
Sam Curran starred with the ball (4 overs, 12 runs and 3 wickets) to get the Player of The Match award. Ben Stokes (52* off 49 balls) played a pivotal role in the sluggish chase, battling lack of timing but doing enough to see England past the finishing line.

Following England’s win with 6 balls to spare, the Rawalpindi Express took to the microblogging site Twitter to share a simple broken heart to signify his current emotional state.

Taking cognisance of Shoaib’s tweet, Team India bowler Mohammed Shami shared a response that brutalized the Pakistani former cricketer.
“Sorry brother. It’s called Karma”, read Shami’s epic response that has gone viral in both countries.

Interestingly, some former Pakistan players and the current Prime Minister had trolled Team India for their semi-final exit on November 10. Therefore, it is believed that Md. Shami’s response was aimed at them.
Moreover, Shoaib Akhtar had himself criticized BCCI for the selection of Mohammed Shami out of nowhere in Team India’s T20 WC squad.
The pace menace appeared on the Indian TV channel Zee News after Pakistan’s loss against the Englishmen. Ruing the sudden injury to Shaheen Afridi in the middle of the match as the turning point, Shoaib Akhtar felt that the 2022 T20 WC was never destined for Pakistan.
Notably, Shaheen could not bowl his last 2 overs after sustaining a leg injury while taking a catch to dismiss Harry Brook in the 13th over of the match.
However, Shoaib Akhtar also saved special praise for the English side for their white-ball dominance following their T20 WC triumph.
“England, I have to give it to them. They managed to win ODI WC 2019. Now, they’ve also grabbed T20 WC (2022). England is the King of white-ball cricket”.
