Team India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant met with a terrible car accident in December last year after which he hasn’t played any professional cricket match. However, ahead of IPL 2023, Rishabh Pant’s advertisement video has gone viral on social media where he can be heard saying “I am coming to play”.
Rishabh Pant was driving to his hometown Roorkee when he lost control of his Mercedes car which hit the divider and caught fire. He got out of the car in time and was admitted to a nearby hospital with the help of a bus driver and conductor.

Popular food delivery platform Zomato shared a video on their official Instagram account featuring Rishabh Pant on March 29. They also added a caption with the video, ” It’s time for a comeback #RishabhIsBack.”
“Cricket and food. Two things I can’t live without. I haven’t been able to play cricket in the last few months. But the doctor did tell me to eat properly. So I had lots of healthy food at home…the cricket season was starting soon. That’s when I felt that if everyone is playing, why not me? I am still in the game boss! I am coming to play,” Rishabh Pant can be heard saying in the viral video.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals will kickstart their IPL 2023 campaign against the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants on April 1. They are yet to finalize their wicketkeeper for the upcoming season.
According to some reports, the DC management is quite keen on signing Bengal’s young wicketkeeper-batter Abishek Porel as Pant’s replacement. However, Porel has just played 3 T20s and 16 first-class matches for his state side. He performed pretty well in DC’s pre-season camp too.
On the other hand, they have the option to use Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan as a wicketkeeper. Sarfaraz Khan has been in red-hot form in the last year and has scored runs in all three formats of the game. Considering his recent, he’s almost certain to get a chance in the playing XI.

In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals have announced Australian stalwart David Warner as their skipper for IPL 2023. The Delhi Capitals franchise had acquired the services of David Warner in the mega-auction ahead of the IPL 2022. He has proved himself as a leader for his previous franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad and will look to do the same for DC.
