Smriti Mandhana, captain of RCB’s WPL team had said during an interview that she wants to achieve what Virat Kohli has done for the RCB franchise. However, her team could just win 2 out of their 8 league games after which Kohli was hilariously asked whether Smriti is in the right direction.
The RCB franchise ventured into having a WPL team. They acquired the services of multiple star players including Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Richa Ghosh and Renuka Singh Thakur. Before the start of the tournament, Smriti Mandhana was asked about similarities with Virat Kohli.
“I don’t like that kind of comparison because what he (Kohli) has achieved is amazing. I just hope that I reach that level, but I’m nowhere near. What he has achieved for this franchise (RCB), I would like to try and do that,” Smriti Mandhana had said before the start of WPL.
Despite having a star-studded lineup, RCB finished at the fourth position in the WPL points table. They lost 6 out of their 8 games and couldn’t perform as per their potential.
Virat Kohli’s hilarious reaction to Mr. Nags goes viral on social media
RCB Insider Mr Nags (played by Danish Sait) hilariously trolled Virat Kohli over Smriti Mandhana following his footsteps. He straightaway mentioned RCB women’s abysmal performance in the league and asked Virat if Smriti Mandhana is in the right direction.
Virat Kohli burst into laughter after the hilarious comment made by Mr. Nags and uttered a couple of cuss words while he certainly enjoyed the leg-pulling. In the viral video, Virat Kohli can be heard saying “Ye bahut har*mi hai”.
“This is big franchise pressure. A lot of people take it as fun and games, ‘this team doesn’t win. Come play when you have so much expectations, we are a big team otherwise, why would we have so many fans if we had some faltu team?” Virat Kohli replied to Mr. Nags question on a serious note.
