As the Oil protesters have threatened to sabotage the pitch for the World Test Championship final between India and Australia, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has prepared two pitches for the final, with the threat being given by the protesters, security has been increased at the Kennington Oval ground to prevent the protestors from disrupting the ground.
As per the ICC sources, ICC has made certain changes in section 6.4 of the playing condition rule, making an alternative pitch. If the pitch gets harmed by the protesters then support staff will assess the pitch and on that basis, the call will be made whether to play on that particular pitch or not. If the assessment suggests to continue playing on the same pitch then only the pitch will be used if not then the other pitch will be assessed as to whether to play on that pitch or not.
Both the captains have been informed about the same, and if both gets agree to continue playing on that pitch even after the pitch gets damaged. However, if they don’t agree then there is a possibility that the match could get cancelled or abandoned.
If the on-field umpires decide that it is unsafe to continue playing on the match pitch, then they will stop the match and will immediately inform the match referee as per section 6.4.1. The game will start at 3 PM IST from 7 to 11 June, with a reserve day if the weather intervenes and stop the play.

As per section 6.4.4 if the decision is not to continue the match, then the on-field umpires will assess whether the pitch can be repaired and the match can start again from the point it was stopped after consulting with the match referee about whether it would assist any of the sides or not.
