The 16th edition of ACC Asia Cup 2023 is all set to commence on August 30. Today, Asian Cricket Council announces the fixtures for the 2023 edition which will take place in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India will take their arch-rival Pakistan on September 2 at Kandy while the tournament will be concluded on September 17. Asia Cup 2023 Teams
Six ACC-affiliated nations are participating in the tournament which are; India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal. Being a full ICC member the first five nations qualified directly while Nepal make it to their first Asia Cup after qualification.
Asia Cup Cricket 2023 Host
Originally, Pakistan was designated as the sole host for the entire tournament. However, owing to conflicts with the BCCI, Sri Lanka is appointed as the co-host. As part of the arrangement, India decided not to travel to Pakistan for their matches. Pakistan will now host Asia Cup 2023 matches. The rest of the tournament, including India’s matches, will take place in Sri Lanka.
ACC Asia Cup Venues for 2023 Edition
In the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023, the opening clash between Pakistan and Nepal will kick off in the vibrant city of Multan. Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore will further play host to three more thrilling matches during the event. Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, two venues Kandy and Dambulla will host the group and Super 4 games, with the grand finale set to take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

ACC Asia Cup 2023 Format
The Asia Cup alternates between ODI and T20 formats each season. The current year’s edition is being played in the 50-over format. The 2022 edition which was won by Sri Lanka was played in T20 format.
Asia Cup 2023 Groups and Tournament Format
The six participating teams are divided into two groups of three teams each. In Group A, we have Pakistan, India, and Nepal, while Group B comprises Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. During the group stage, each team will compete in two matches. The top two teams from each group will then advance to the thrilling Super 4 stage. The teams who will finish in the top 2 in the Super 4 table will clash in the title match.
