Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli played a crucial knock on the first day of the second India vs West Indies test at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. During Kohli’s hard-fought innings, Caribbean wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva made a comment on the Indian batter that won the hearts of cricket fans.
Team India got off to a good start courtesy of their opening batters Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, they lost the momentum after losing the two openers while Shubman Gill and Ajinkya Rahane couldn’t contribute much.
The Men in Blue were in a spot of bother and hence Virat Kohli decided to play a cautious knock along with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. He constantly kept looking for singles and doubles rather than playing big shots.

After the end of the 72nd over, Virat was getting ready to face off-spinner Alick Athanaze. West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva looked pretty impressed with Virat’s running between the wicket and commented, “Stealing doubles since 2012.”

His words were caught by the stump mic and the video went viral across the social media platforms. Cricket fans were pretty impressed with Joshua Da Silva for complimenting Virat’s running between the wickets.
Meanwhile, the experienced batter remained unbeaten after playing a crucial knock of 87 runs off 161 balls. His partner Ravindra Jadeja too remained unbeaten after scoring 36 runs by the end of play on Day 1 as the two batters formed a crucial partnership for the fifth wicket.
Earlier, skipper Rohit Sharma played a brilliant knock of 80 runs before he was dismissed by left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican. Young opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal too carried on his form and smashed 57 runs after which he was dismissed by all-rounder Jason Holder.
Shubman Gill yet again failed at his new number 3 position and could only score 10 runs while Ajinkya Rahane lost his wicket to Shannon Gabriel after scoring a mere 8 runs. Kemar Roach, Jomel Warrican, Jason Holder and Shannon Gabriel took a wicket each as they didn’t let the Indian batters take the game away from the West Indies side on Day 1.

Team India are currently placed at a score of 288-4 in the second India vs West Indies test in Trinidad. With the likes of Ishan Kishan and Ravichandran Ashwin yet to come, the Men in Blue will certainly aim to post a big first innings total.
