Like the previous three seasons, Lanka Premier League 2023 will be a 5-team affair. However, due to financial issues, the owners of three franchises have been changed and they have changed the team names as well. The three franchises which are going to make their debut this season are B-Love Kandy, Colombo Strikers, and Galle Titans. The other two teams are Jaffna Kings and Dambula Aura who were part of the previous LPL seasons as well.

Stars like Babar Azam, David Miller, and Shakib Al Hasan will be seen making their LPL debut this year and the league’s broadcasters will be pleased as their inclusion is expected to increase the TRP. IPL Legend Suresh Raina was also supposed to play LPL 2023 but the southpaw had pulled himself out from the Auction at the last moment, the reason for which is not known.

Fancode has acquired the digital rights of the Lanka Premier League. So, in India, cricket freaks need to tune in to the Fancode app to enjoy the online streaming of LPL matches. However, a subscription is required to watch the games, and a ‘Tour Pass’ will cost you INR 89, purchasing which you will be able to watch the entire season of the Sri Lanka T20 league. It’s worth noting that Star Sports’ streaming service Disney+Hotstar won’t stream LPL 2023.

Lanka Premier League 2023 Full Schedule

The league will start with Jaffna Kings vs Colombo Strikers match on July 30 and it will conclude with a final on August 20. The whole tournament will see a total of 24 games. Since Sri Lanka and India share the same time zone, the live telecast of the Lanka Premier League matches in both countries will begin at either 3:00 PM (afternoon games) or 7:30 PM (evening games).
