Australia’s opening batsman David Warner hit the sweet spot in the ongoing game against the Netherlands cricket team at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The aggressive opener looked comfortable from the get-go when Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first on a wicket conducive to batting.
While Warner’s partner Mitchell Marsh fell for just 9 runs on a flat cricket, Warner continued to inflict damage on the bowling attack by smacking fours and sixes at will. David Warner and Steve Smith steadied the ship with their 132-run second-wicket partnership before Smith departed for 71.
On the contrary, David Warner got support from Marnus Labuschagne as the duo added 84 runs for the third wicket before Labuschagne departed for 62. The Netherlands bowlers found it literally tough to stop Warner’s rhythm as the experienced southpaw scored his 22nd ODI century.

During the third ball of the 39th over, David Warner pulled Bas de Leede’s delivery towards the long leg and the ball raced towards the boundary rope. Soon after Warner reached his century, the DJ was pretty quick as he played the famous “Srivalli” song in the background. Meanwhile, David Warner who heard the song, pulled off Pushpa’s iconic “thaggede le” celebration, in what was the icing on the cake and the video clip has gone viral.

Notably, it was also David Warner’s sixth century in Cricket World Cups as he equalled Sachin Tendulkar’s overall tally of six centuries in the tournament. David Warner is one century behind Rohit Sharma’s seven centuries in ODI World Cups, the most by a batter in the history of the tournament. David Warner didn’t capitalize after his century as he fell prey to Logan van Beek’s delivery in the first ball of the 40th over.

The experienced campaigner made his way back to the dressing room after he scored 104 off 93 balls including eleven fours and three sixes. Australia finished at a whopping total of 399/8 in 50 overs. Glenn Maxwell played one heck of an innings as he scored a quickfire 106 off just 44 balls (9 fours and 8 sixes).
