New Zealand posted a mammoth 401-run total against Pakistan at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway’s 68-run opening partnership set the foundation for the Kiwis. The partnership was broken by Hasan Ali in the 11th over by edging Devon Conway behind. However, it was Conway’s honesty that won Netizens’ hearts.
Devon Conway walks off before Umpire’s decision
Devon Conway who was batting at 35 tried to pull Hasan’s bouncer, however, the ball found a slight nick, hit him on the shoulder, and ended up on Mohammad Rizwan’s gloves. It looked like Pakistan players were unaware of the edge and Mohammad Rizwan’s reaction suggested he had no idea at all. However, Devon Conway was heading to the pavilion right after the keeper collected the ball.
Hasan Ali then appealed and this was all the Umpire needed to raise his finger. The sportsmanship of the Kiwi opener was appreciated by the Netizens. Here’s the video of the incident.
