The bond between MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina is evident from their time playing together in the blue jersey and peaking during the IPL. However, their bromance faced speculation of a rift after Suresh Raina was not picked by MS Dhoni’s CSK in the IPL 2022 Auction, leading to questions about their relationship. But, in a recent incident during the IPL Auction 2024 show, it became clear that their camaraderie remains intact, dispelling any rumors of a rift.
Suresh Raina received a Phone Call from MS Dhoni
Suresh Raina is a part of the Jio Cinema expert panel for the IPL Auction 2024. During the pre-auction chat, the former CSK batter received a phone call from MS Dhoni. The southpaw picked up the call and after hanging up revealed it was MS Dhoni who discussed the Auction strategy with him.
“It was Dhoni bhai from Dubai, and he said definitely not”, Suresh Raina said. “MS Dhoni is in Dubai right now and he will be meeting CSK staff members regarding Auction strategies and planning”. he further added.

Talking about CSK’s planning for the IPL Auction, they will enter the mini-auction with 31.4 crore. The management of the Chennai-based franchise can go all out with this money as they have only 6 slots left, 3 of which are overseas players. CSK had retained 19 players ahead of the Auction. They need a couple of overseas pacers, a backup keeper for MS Dhoni, and someone who can finish the games.

As per reports, CSK is eying the likes of Gerald Coetzee, Shahrukh Khan, Mitchell Starc, etc. as their potential buys. With a huge purse in hand, they can dominate other franchises. As MS Dhoni has reached in Dubai, he is expected to join CSK management on the Auction table and assist them.
