However, they never imagined they would see MS Dhoni smoking hookah. While it’s not a crime or an illegal activity, the personality that MS Dhoni has doesn’t seem to suit such activity. A video of the former cricketer is circulating on the internet in which he can be seen blowing smoke. The video is said to have been taken during a social event in Dubai, which the CSK captain recently attended. The act of MS Dhoni is raising eyebrows, but some netizens are defending him, saying it’s his life as he can do whatever he wants.
Former Australian skipper George Bailey, who played under MS Dhoni during his IPL days, once revealed that Dhoni likes to smoke hookah. “He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. So, he quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much open door policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there. For India or lot of other cricket teams, it can be hierarchical, but he certainly broke that down,” Bailey said in a video posted by Cricket Australia” Bailey said in an interview.
While smoking hookah is not as dangerous as smoking cigarettes, it still has negative effects on health. As MS Dhoni is a sportsperson, it’s not something recommended for him. However, MS Dhoni has all the right to enjoy his life in his own way.

MS Dhoni has been away from cricketing action since winning IPL 2023 but is all set to return to the yellow-attired side for the upcoming season. The skipper of CSK is expected to join the team camp in late February. Dhoni is currently 42 years old and only plays in the IPL. He is nearing his IPL retirement, however, Dhoni has given no indication that 2024 will be his last season.
