Vikas Kohli dismisses rumours of Virat Kohli missing games due to mother’s health
While the BCCI urged the media and the fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy at this time, there were already rumours of Kohli missing the games for India owing to his mother’s health. However, Virat Kohli’s brother, Vikas Kohli rubbished the rumours by adding that their mother is fine and doing well. Vikas Kohli took to his micro-blogging Instagram portal to post a message.
“Hello everyone, I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom’s health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information,” Vikas Kohli added.

“The BCCI respects his (Virat Kohli) decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series,” the BCCI stated.

Meanwhile, Team India led by Rohit Sharma lost the Test opener against England at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The hosts had a great opportunity to take the first lead in the series but they let the opportunity slip away from their hands. England staged a great comeback in the second innings and turned the game around to clinch the first game by 28 runs. The second Test will get underway on February 2, Friday at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
