Saudi Arabian football has witnessed rapid growth in the two years. It all began when Al Nassr signed Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The following seasons witnessed numerous European football stars joining the Saudi league, enticed by lucrative deals. In a bid to garner worldwide attention for the Saudi Pro League, Saudi Arabia is investing a lot. In the Riyadh Season Cup 2024, they went as far as signing WWE legend The Undertaker solely to unveil the trophy.
Ronaldo Stunned by The Undertaker’s Entrance
The Deadman made his iconic entrance at King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, which hosted the Riyadh Season Cup match between Al Nassr and Al Hilal. During his entrance, players of both teams, including Cristiano Ronaldo, were lined up. The Undertaker came out with his signature walk, and the crowd erupted.
The Al Nassr Captain was also in awe of the WWE legend. Cristiano Ronaldo was smiling throughout the entrance. No one had imagined The Undertaker and Cristiano Ronaldo sharing the screen; it was indeed a crossover we didn’t expect.

However, this isn’t The Undertaker’s first visit to Saudi Arabia. The country has been hosting WWE events since 2018, and The Undertaker had been here before as well. Although the 58-year-old wrestler retired from WWE in 2020.
Speaking of the Riyadh Season Cup game, Al Nassr suffered a 2-0 defeat against their arch-rival Al Hilal. Cristiano Ronaldo made his return through this match after missing Al Nassr’s previous game against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. In that encounter, Al Nassr thrashed the Miami-based club by 6-0.
However, Ronaldo’s side remained goalless in the decisive game. Despite Ronaldo’s presence on the field for the full 90 minutes, they couldn’t find the back of the net. With this victory, Al Hilal clinched the Riyadh Season Cup 2024.
