One such incident occurred during the T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and Ireland.
Abbas Afridi collided with Shaheen Afridi while attempting a catch
In the 14th over of Ireland’s innings, Mark Adair lofted the ball into the air, presenting Pakistan with a catching opportunity. It would have been a straightforward catch for Shaheen Afridi if Abbas Afridi had not interfered. Unaware of Shaheen being positioned under the ball, Abbas also attempted the catch.
As a result, Abbas collided with Shaheen Afridi, causing Shaheen to lose his balance, and both players fell to the ground. Fortunately, Shaheen had secured the ball before the collision, and despite losing his balance, he managed to hold on to it. This resulted in Pakistan securing their eighth wicket of the day.

However, both fielders appeared to be in pain after the collision, and netizens quickly dubbed it a classic Pakistan fielding moment. One Instagram user commented, “Any tournament is incomplete without two Pakistan fielders producing such moments.” Here are some reactions from the netizens.
Talking about the match, the Ireland team managed to score 106 runs despite losing 6 wickets when they had only 32 runs on the board. During the chase, Pakistan had a similar start, losing 5 wickets with just 57 runs. However, captain Babar Azam anchored the innings from one end, and his steady performance took Pakistan close to the target. In the end, Shaheen Afridi’s two sixes saved Pakistan from a humiliating defeat in Florida.
