The Pathan brothers are currently playing in the T20 league World Championship of Legends in England. They are part of the India Champions team, which is being led by Yuvraj Singh. Meanwhile, during their match against the South Africa Champions, the Pathan brothers were involved in a tense moment. While they were having a good partnership, they had a mix-up that caused Irfan to be run out, resulting in him losing his cool at his elder brother Yusuf.

The incident occurred in the 19th over of India’s innings. Yuvraj Singh and co. were required to score 79 runs in 12 balls, which was technically impossible. Yusuf was struggling to score quickly (he was playing at 36 off 37 balls) while Irfan wanted to hit every ball out of the park (he was batting at 34 runs in 20 balls). Irfan played the very first ball of the 19th over in the air, creating a catching opportunity.
However, the Proteas fielders couldn’t get there. Meanwhile, the Pathan brothers had completed one run and Irfan wanted a double; however, Yusuf sent him back when he had covered half of the pitch. Irfan tried to return to the non-striker’s end, but it was too late.
After being run out, the junior Pathan shouted at Yusuf, ‘pehle bol na yaar,’ which means in English, ‘Couldn’t you call immediately?’ Although the match had already slipped out of India’s hands, Yusuf completed his fifty, but India lost by a huge margin of 54 runs.

The good thing is that with a slightly better net run rate than the South Africa Champions, India finished 4th in the points table and managed to qualify for the semi-final. The Pathan brothers will be pleased with their innings at the end of India’s innings. After the game, the brothers patched things up as Irfan kissed Yusuf’s forehead when they were returning to the pavilion.
