Whether Rishabh Pant is batting or behind the stumps, he never lets fans feel bored. His aggressive batting and constant banter while fielding keep the fans hooked. Pant’s playful nature often sees him chirping from behind the stumps, motivating Indian bowlers or pulling the opposition’s leg. During the India vs Bangladesh Test match in Chennai, yet another stump mic clip of Rishabh Pant has been doing the rounds on the internet.
Pant started his verbal game when Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das were trying to rescue Bangladesh from a difficult position. However, this time, instead of bantering with the opposition batters, he made playful remarks about his own teammates.
When Ravindra Jadeja came on to bowl, Pant went on to remark: “Jaddu bhai, charo taraf aap hi dikh rahe ho… Aage pichchhe aap hi ho, Jaddu bhai,” much to the delight of the close-in fielders. Then, as R Ashwin came to bowl, Pant was continuously motivating him with, “Come on, Ash Bhai,” shouts.

He didn’t hesitate to bring up Virat Kohli either. Pant suggested to Ashwin that he should listen to what Virat had advised a few balls earlier when Kohli had walked up to the bowler for a quick chat. “Virat bhai ki baat toh sun lo, Ash bhai (At least listen to Virat),” Pant quipped.

However, after facing this major setback, he made a remarkable comeback. He first returned to captain Delhi Capitals in the IPL, then earned a spot in the 2024 World Cup squad, where he lifted the trophy. Now, after 632 days, he has donned the Test jersey once again.
