Shubman Gill knows how to handle pressure, whether it’s on the field or in front of the mic. Just before the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Eden Gardens, the young Gujarat Titans captain found himself facing a different kind of delivery.
Shubman Gill playfully dismisses a question about his marriage
This one came from Danny Morrison, and it wasn’t about cricket. “You’re looking good; wedding bells around the corner? Getting married soon?” Danny asked with his usual cheeky grin, and the fans were curiously expecting the GT captain to answer this question.
Meanwhile, Gill, calm as ever, played it with a straight bat. “No, nothing like that,” he replied, flashing a smile and brushing off the distraction with elegance. The stylish right-hander was so focused on the game that he not only led the team by example with the bat but also ensured that his team wrapped up the game in a convincing fashion.

The youngster chipped in with a captain’s knock as he smashed a brilliant 90 off just 55 balls. He cracked 10 boundaries and sent the ball flying for three sixes. With a strike rate of 163.64, he anchored the innings like a seasoned pro.
His incredible innings powered the Titans to 198 for the loss of 3 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan looked good for his 51 off 36 (6 fours, 1 six). Jos Buttler remained not out on 41 off 23 balls (8 fours).

On the other hand, KKR failed to chase down the target in their backyard as they could muster 159/8 in 20 overs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane top-scored with 50 off 36, including 5 fours and a six. Prasid Krishna and Rashid Khan bowled exceptionally well as they took 2 wickets each, giving away 25 runs in their quota of 4 overs.
GT won the game by 39 runs and are on top of the table with 12 points, accumulating as many as six wins and conceding just 2 defeats. They will lock horns with the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals on April 28, Monday, at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
