On April 27, the Lucknow Super Giants faced the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede, but it turned out to be a forgettable outing for them. In this crucial match, LSG suffered a one-sided 54-run defeat, making their path to the playoffs even more difficult.
Ravi Bishnoi leaves Bumrah and LSG camp in splits with his hilarious six celebration
There wasn’t much for LSG fans to enjoy during the live match, but one moment brought smiles to the camp — courtesy of Ravi Bishnoi. On the last ball of the 18th over, which was also the final delivery of Jasprit Bumrah’s spell, Bishnoi played a slog and sent the ball over the boundary for a six.
Before that ball, Bumrah had conceded only 16 runs and taken 4 wickets. So for a tailender like Ravi Bishnoi to hit him for a six was nothing short of an achievement. Bishnoi celebrated humorously with a pumped-up gesture, as if he had just scored a century.
This playful moment made LSG captain Rishabh Pant and bowling coach Zaheer Khan burst into laughter. Even Jasprit Bumrah couldn’t help but smile, realizing that the very ball he was hoping to claim a five-wicket haul on was sent for a six by a lower-order batsman.

However, Ravi Bishnoi’s six didn’t really help LSG’s chances, as they still needed an improbable 61 runs from the final 12 balls, a task that would have been nearly impossible even for power hitters, let alone tailenders.
Mumbai Indians won the match by 54 runs and registered their 6th victory of the season and climbed to the second spot on the points table. But in the day’s second match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals, which caused a major shift in the standings. RCB leapfrogged Mumbai, Delhi, and Gujarat to move from 4th to 1st position.

As a result, Mumbai Indians now sit at 3rd place on the table. Meanwhile, with the loss, LSG find themselves in 6th place and the next four games will be must-win encounters for Rishabh Pant and co.
