It is cognizance of the fact that the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals had to be cancelled after the Dharamsala airport was shut down due to a suspected drone threat from Pakistan.
This unexpected incident raised serious concerns about the safety and travel arrangements for players, support staff, broadcasters, and other IPL members. Meanwhile, Indian Railways arranged a special Vande Bharat Express train to transport everyone safely to New Delhi after the flights had been grounded. The move was made in close coordination with the richest cricket body and helped manage the situation smoothly.
Kuldeep Yadav thanks BCCI and Indian Railways
Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who plays for Delhi Capitals, shared his experience in a video posted by the official IPL account. He said the train was full of players, team staff, technical crew, and BCCI officials. He praised how well the situation was handled.
“There are many team members, staff members, several individuals from BCCI, cameramen, and technical experts – everyone’s there. The train is filled. It was a big team, and it was amazing the way everything was managed. I want to thank the BCCI and Indian Railways,” Kuldeep Yadav said in the video.

The video clip began with players relaxing and chatting during the journey. Following the incident, the BCCI announced a one-week suspension of IPL 2025. The board stated that the safety of players and staff is the top priority. Further decisions will be made based on how the situation develops.
