In a dramatic and unexpected move, the BCCI has reshuffled the venues for the IPL 2025 final, Qualifier 1, and Eliminator. According to the latest update, Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator have been moved to the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
These games are slated to take place on May 29 and 30. This year’s IPL has been unpredictable, both on and off the field. The game resumed after Operation Sindoor, and with the venue shuffle, the BCCI has shown its willing to adapt fast and keep the tournament rolling.
All you need to know about IPL 2025 final date and venue
The IPL 2025 final is now headed to Ahmedabad, to the massive Narendra Modi Stadium. The epic showdown is slated to be held on June 3. It is a venue that can pack in over 100,000 fans, and there is no better place to host a cricketing carnival. Interestingly, the same stadium will also host Qualifier 2 on June 1.
This year’s IPL had a brief hiccup, a week-long suspension following the Pahalgam terror attack and the tense political situation between India and Pakistan. Thankfully, both nations declared a ceasefire, and cricket was back on track by May 17. But due to the sudden pause, the revised schedule left the BCCI scrambling for alternative plans, and the venues for the playoffs were kept on hold.
Initially, the final and Qualifier 2 were supposed to be held in Kolkata, while Hyderabad was set to host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator. But that plan has been shelved, reportedly due to weather concerns and logistical parameters, as per the IPL Governing Council.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans, RCB, and Punjab Kings have already booked their playoff spots. Meanwhile, the biggest drama is unfolding between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals; both are in a neck-and-neck fight for that last playoff spot.
They face off at the Wankhede on Wednesday, and it is a do-or-die clash. If Mumbai wins, they are in contention, but if Delhi pulls off an upset, the playoff picture gets a bit messier, and we head into the final league matchday on May 27, when RCB take on Lucknow. Earlier, the likes of CSK, KKR, SRH, RR, and LSG were eliminated from the playoffs race.
