The 38-year-old Pollard has shown that age is just a number. He produced one of the most destructive innings of his career recently, in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025. Playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), co-owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Pollard turned back the clock and reminded everyone why he is still the king of power hitting.

Facing the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Trinidad, Pollard walked in at No. 5. What followed was sheer carnage. He scored 65 runs from just 29 balls, including two fours and eight colossal sixes. What truly stood out was the insane sequence where he hammered seven sixes in just eight balls.
He tore into Navian Bidaisee in the 15th over, belting three sixes in the last four balls. If that wasn’t enough, he then targeted Waqar Salamkheil in the very next over, where he hit four sixes in four balls.
Just a week earlier, he became only the second batter after fellow West Indies giant Chris Gayle to score 14,000 runs in T20 cricket. That statistic alone shows how consistent and dominant he has been in the format.
Pollard also sits just behind Gayle in the list of most sixes in T20s. Overall, he struck as many as 950 sixes and is only behind Chris Gayle’s staggering record of 1056.
In this CPL clash, Pollard brought up his half-century in just 21 balls, proving that he still has the ability to accelerate like few others in world cricket. His partnership with Nicholas Pooran, worth 90 runs for the fourth wicket, ensured that Trinbago posted a strong total of 179 runs.

Pollard was deservedly named Man of the Match, as his heroics helped Knight Riders beat the Patriots by 12 runs. The opposition, despite Andre Fletcher’s valiant 67 off 54 balls, could only manage 167/6 in their 20 overs. Pollard’s innings turned out to be the defining difference between the two sides.
And that’s the beauty of Pollard. Even if he bats for just 20 to 30 balls, he can decide the entire outcome of a game. That is why every bowler approaches him with a mix of fear and respect.

But it’s a moment where I continue to just enjoy cricket at this stage and try to give the fans, my family, and the people close to me something to share. I obviously play each ball on its merit. You look at the situation of the game and the bowlers who are coming. We speak about this inside the dressing room.”
“It’s a game of chess and understanding what is needed. You don’t get these things overnight. I would have messed up a lot of games before that, but now, at this stage of my career, I just try to help the youngsters, and because I’m also doing some coaching, I have to show them what to do. You’ll have to ask the opposition about my presence. But for me, it’s more mental in terms of preparation, processes, and understanding what is needed. Over a period of time, I’ve just come to understand my game, and I play my game, not the opposition’s,” said Kieron Pollard after the match.
