One of the worlds leading sports clothing companies Adidas has signed a 5-year deal with BCCI. The contract is worth 250 Crore in which Adidas will manufacture all the kits of the Indian cricket team across formats. Fans are extremely pleased with the announcement as Adidas shares glimpses of the new Team India jersey.
On Monday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced that Adidas will now produce all the match kits and training kits. The tenure will end on March 2028 until then Adidas will sponsor all the BCCI merchandise.
Earlier BCCI had a tie-up with MPL Sports and KKCL’s Killer however both these Indian brands only managed to keep the rights for just 3 years.
Adidas will pay 75 lakhs per match to BCCI
The German brand is all set to pay a hefty amount of money to Indian Cricket Board. However, the figures are still slightly lower than Nike who at that time paid 88 lakhs per match to BCCI back in 2020. Adidas and Nike are having a bitter-sweet rivalry between them across sports hopefully now it will continue in cricket as well.

The Indian team will wear the three strips for the first time as they have only worn brands like Nike, MPL, and KKCL’s Killer in the past.
Adidas will also have a huge opportunity to generate revenue with the Indian market as cricket is worshipped in the country.
Adidas shares glimpses of new Team India jersey
The much-awaited jersey of the Indian team is building more hype as Adidas has shared a glimpse of it on Instagram. In their latest post, they posted a video in which they asked the fans to direct message them to see the snap of the New Jersey.
One of the fans took a screenshot of that photo and posted it on Twitter. Brand-new Jersey is getting praised by everyone on Twitter as one of the fans even compared it to the Argentina football team’s jersey.

The World cup winning Argentina side’s kit is also sponsored by Adidas which made the fans relate it to the Indian jersey.
Jersey has a beautiful design of Indian tricolor on the three stripes which is making it look very classic. In addition, Adidas has also didn’t make any changes to the classic sky blue color of the Indian kit.
