It has been said by the Police officials that during the argument between the two, Vignesh, who was a Rohit Sharma fan and supported Mumbai Indians in the IPL, mocked his Kohli-fan friend Dharamraj by making fun of RCB and Virat Kohli.

It was found out that Vignesh used to tease Dharamraj often for his speaking difficulty as the latter used to stammer. However, on that particular night, Vignesh made jokes about RCB while relating it to Dharamraj’s stammering. This set Dharamraj raging in anger, and he attacked Vignesh with a bottle and then slammed a bat on his head. Dharamraj then fled the spot. A group of workers saw Vignesh’s body the next morning while they were on their way to work and informed the local police.
