However, there is a reason for the Indian fans to rejoice now as the air around Kohli’s injury has been cleared.

The Sri Lankan commentator Roshan Abeysinghe is in the United Arab Emirates for the coverage of the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. He took to his Twitter handle and wrote that Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a wrist injury and the youngster Shubman Gill has replaced the batsman. The fans were left dismayed after hearing the news as they want their favourite batsman to be a part of such a big tournament. However, the commentator has now apologized for his tweet which turned out to be false.

The Sri Lankan commentator took to his Twitter handle today morning and apologized to the fans that the news of Virat Kohli’s injury is fake. The tweet was deleted by the commentator and the fans were relieved to know that Kohli is indeed going to play in the Asia Cup 2022. The tweet by Roshan read, “Sorry Virat’s news is fake. The tweet has been deleted.”

Team India is going to take on the arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening game of the Asia Cup 2022, which is going to be played on Sunday in Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
