Rain has struck the Asia Cup 2023 twice and on both occasions, India and Pakistan were the two teams at the receiving end. Fans are absolutely livid at the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) for scheduling the high-voltage game of two fierce rivals in Colombo where it pours down heavily during these days.

Fans were deeply distraught after the first game between India and Pakistan was called off after the first innings on the 2nd of September. However, the fans leaving the stadium still had hopes of seeing the mouth-watering clash again in the Super 4 stage which also got struck by rain.

Asian Cricket Council Faces Fans’ Backlash

The organizing committee of Asia Cup 2023 is facing criticism all over the internet for the poor scheduling of such a big game. Netizens have started bashing the president of ACC ‘Jay Shah’ on various social media platforms.

Fans have expressed their anger by criticizing ‘Jay Shah’ who is the head of the ACC governing body and also the secretary of BCCI. Meanwhile, some critics are demanding Jay Shah to step down from the position as they feel he is mixing politics with cricket.

Super Four clash between India and Pakistan moved to reserve day

The high-profile clash which only saw 24.1 overs of play on the regular day is being scheduled to be played on reserve day. The play will resume from where it stopped on Sunday and we won’t be losing any overs as the game will kick start at 3:00 PM (IST).

Good news for the fans as they don’t need to buy another ticket for the reserve day clash. The ACC official page asked fans to keep their tickets safe as they will be needed on Monday as well.

Meanwhile, the Indian team have to play two back-to-back ODI games now without a break which could result in unwanted injuries. Just a day next to the reserve day game of India-Pakistan the men in blue need to play Sri Lanka in their second Super 4 clash on Tuesday.

Rain scare on reserve day as well

In Colombo, there is no stopping to rain during the whole month of September. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the reserve day on Monday isn’t looking promising as it might rain heavily throughout the day.

As a result, if it continued to rain on the reserve day we will see both captains shaking hands and sharing the points at the end of the day.
