One of the most athletic fielders of current times, Ben Stokes, produced one more outrageous fielding effort to save a six during the second T20I against Australia.

England was facing Australia in the second T20I of their last series before the T20 World Cup at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Ben Stokes’s acrobatic fielding effort

England’s left-arm pacer Sam Curran has bowled a length delivery to Mitchell Marsh in the 12th over of the innings which was lofted down the ground towards long-off by the mighty batter.

Ben Stokes, who was placed at deep long-off, produced an outstanding effort as he plucked the catch with one hand.

However, Stokes showed great game awareness as he threw the ball back as he was about to fall beyond the ropes. The English all-rounder recovered quite quickly from the dive and ran back to throw the ball towards the keeper.

The third umpire had a close look at the replays of Stokes’s effort near the boundary rope after which it was clear that the effort was clean and no contact was made with the boundary rope.

Stokes certainly saved four runs for his side by preventing a certain six and allowed just a couple as he got back to the ball in no time.

As the English all-rounder produced a Superman effort to save the six, the Australian crowd gave him a standing ovation which is quite rare for an English cricketer.

Ben Stokes has a knack for producing such acrobatic fielding efforts and this one will definitely rank as one of his best efforts till now.

England Team posted a competitive total of 178 runs at the Manuka Oval pitch which favored the batters.

English bowlers did a great job to defend this total as they restricted Australia to 170 runs and sealed the three-match T20I series by 2-0 with a game still remaining.
