AUS vs WI: Tim David slams a humongous 110-meter six to Obed McCoy

Thanks to his unparalleled big-hitting, Tim David has almost sealed a spot in Australia's XI for the upcoming T20 WC.

Tim David six

The defending champions have a huge conundrum to address ahead of T20 World Cup that starts from October. Singaporean-Australian batsman Tim David is making himself undroppable from the side thanks to his six hitting prowess.

The place of Marcus Stoinis and Steve Smith in the starting XI are under danger because of the middle-order sensation.

Having already played a substantial cameo against India, Tim David today against WI followed it up with a match-changing 42 off 20.

Though Tim came in to bat with AUS in a precarious situation, he didn’t let the situation define how he played. Rather, the manner in which he played eventually defined the whole match.

The 20 ball blizzard from Tim was all gold. However, the one hit that stood out the most was the humongous 110-metre long six from Tim David off Obed McCoy.

The powerful thwack came on the 4th ball of the 17th over of Australia’s innings. McCoy bowled his stock slower ball at length in a bid to deceive the batsman.

Nonetheless, Tim David shut McCoy up unleashing a baseball-style swipe on the ball to send it soaring deep into the mid-wicket region for a 110-metre maximum.

Previous two balls had resulted in a four and a six while the 4th ball of the set went for another four in an over that cost Obed McCoy 21 runs.

David was, regardless, dismissed on the 5th ball of 17th over though he had done the damage by then. The knock from Tim David included 4 fours and 3 shots that resulted in six each.

Thanks to Tim’s 42 and Warner’s 71 off 45, Australian put 178 on the board– a total that Pooran and co. failed to chase by 31 runs.

None of the West Indies batsman crossed the 30 run mark as Mitchell Starc took 4 for 20 off his fire-breathing spell that left the visitors in tatters.
